In my experience, an idea for a design project either comes to you immediately, or it takes forever to reach a place where it feels right. In this case, the idea was loud and clear from the moment I received the assignment from Wibar. The title, “Live in de Loods,” and the concept were about live music, either electronic or acoustic, and being played in front of an audience at the Wibar.
At the time, I made about five experiments for a logo, of which the current logo was one, and we immediately sensed that we were on the right track. All of the branding consists of text placed underneath a line, creating a small warehouse, or “Loods,” for the text to stand in. All the colors are taken from containers in the Wibar, as the overall feeling of the event was meant to be industrial, just like the venue itself.
Sometimes, with assignments, you happen to find a place where everything clicks. I’m happy to say that this was one of those moments, and one I am still proud to call this my project. See you in the Loods!
